Indian cricketer Shafali Verma has been appointed as the Brand Ambassador of the Haryana State Commission for Women. This initiative aims to promote women’s empowerment, equality, and a drug-free lifestyle across the state.

During the official ceremony in Chandigarh, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini presented Shafali with a cash reward of ₹1.5 crore and an official Grade-A accreditation certificate to honour her contribution to Indian cricket.

Shafali, who hails from Rohtak, Haryana, has been a standout performer for Team India, recently helping the team clinch the Women’s World Cup 2025. Her achievements have made her a source of inspiration for young girls who dream of representing India.

The chairperson of the Haryana Women’s Commission, Renu Bhatia, praised Shafali for her hard work and determination, saying she represents the spirit of today’s empowered Indian woman and serves as a role model for the next generation.

With Shafali’s appointment, the Haryana Women’s Commission hopes to strengthen its campaign for gender equality, promote women’s participation in sports, and inspire more youth to pursue their ambitions with confidence and dedication.
