On the night of November 1, during the third and final T20 match between Pakistan and South Africa in Lahore, some Pakistani fans in the stadium began chanting offensive slogans about Jasprit Bumrah. Instead of discouraging them, Farhan clapped along, seemingly celebrating the chants. A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.

In the viral video, Pakistani fans can be heard making derogatory and indecent remarks about Bumrah, even referring to him as their “Abbu” (father). Hearing these chants, Sahibzada Farhan was seen clapping and smiling. Rather than stopping the fans from using abusive language, he appeared to encourage them, which has sparked a heated debate on social media. Many have condemned his conduct, calling it unsportsmanlike and against the spirit of cricket, as players are expected to discourage such behavior.

In fact, Sahibzada Farhan has had a fierce on-field rivalry with Jasprit Bumrah. During the Asia Cup 2025, Farhan hit three sixes off Bumrah in a T20I match — becoming the only batter in the world to do so in his career. He was also the first Pakistani player ever to hit a six against Bumrah in T20 internationals.

Sahibzada Farhan has already been reprimanded by the ICC

This is the same Sahibzada Farhan who, after completing his fifty off 34 balls in the Super-4 match against India, performed a controversial “gun celebration.”

In that match, he had hit 5 fours and 3 sixes, and his “shooting gun” gesture sparked a huge controversy. Later, the ICC reprimanded and warned Farhan for that celebration, following which he apologized to the ICC for his actions.
