Speaking to the media ahead of India’s Test series against South Africa, Jurel said, “There’s absolutely no competition between me and Rishabh bhai. Whoever plays for India, the motive is always the same – to make the team win.” His calm and mature response has drawn appreciation from cricket fans and experts alike.

Jurel, who impressed everyone with his recent Test performances, said wearing the India Test cap was a dream come true. “Playing Test cricket was something I dreamed of since childhood. When I received my first cap, it felt like a dream moment,” he added, reflecting on his journey so far.

The young keeper also addressed discussions about the wicketkeeper slot in the team, saying that his focus remains on the collective goal. “If he plays, I’m happy. If I play, I’m happy. If both of us play together, even better. The team comes first,” said Jurel, highlighting his team-first mindset.

As India prepares to face South Africa, Jurel remains focused on improving his game and contributing whenever the opportunity arises. “Every time I bat, I assess the situation and try to do what the team needs most at that moment,” he said – a sign of maturity beyond his years.
